- Action Item: Item B - proposed change in GRs reflecting the changes above in Item A, USR, Section I 1.2.2.2. If approved by the Board on January 22, 2002, the Senate Rules will be changed accordingly.
- Recognition of Gifford Seymour Blyton, Parliamentarian of the University Senate:
The University Senate will honor Gifford Blyton, our long-standing Parliamentarian, for his gracious instruction of a long line of Senate Council Chairs on the arcane wisdom of Roberts Rules of Order. There will be spirited remarks from Stan Craig, a former student of Professor Blyton, Marcus McEllistrem, 1991 Senate Council chair, and Bob Bostrom, 1984 Senate Council Chair. Following these remarks we will adjourn to the Young Library gallery where a festive reception awaits. Members of the Board of Trustees, former debaters and Senate Council Chairs have been invited. Please join us to honor a man who has given so much for so long to the University of Kentucky.
