The faculty of record is the faculty body responsible for ALL aspects of the program, including courses, credit hours, rigor, changes to the program, etc. There are four types of faculty of record. The first scenario is the default as established by UK's regulations, as per the descriptions of faculty membership in Governing Regulations VII, in Section A.4.(a), Section A.5.(a), and Section A.6.(a)

  1. Scenario 1 (Default Faculty of Record)
  2. The default faculty of record for an undergraduate degree program is the voting faculty body of the educational unit that is homing the program. The default program director is the director of undergraduate studies.

  3. Scenario 2
  4. The default faculty of record may vote to make a subset of its members serve the faculty of record for a particular undergraduate degree that is homed in the educational unit. It will be necessary to describe/list/name the subset of the educational unit that will serve as the faculty of record. Consideration must also be given to the process and standards for identifying the program director, as well as adding and deleting members of the faculty of record.

  5. Scenario 3
  6. The default faculty of record may extend voting privileges to faculty who are outside its membership. It will be necessary to describe/list/name the certain individual faculty who have received voting rights within the faculty of record. Consideration must also be given to the process and standards for identifying the program director, as well as adding and deleting members of the faculty of record.

  7. Scenario 4
  8. The default faculty of record may be a combination of scenarios 2 and 3, above. It will be necessary to describe/list/name the subset of the educational unit as well as the certain individual faculty who have received voting rights within the faculty of record. Consideration must also be given to the process and standards for identifying the program director, as well as adding and deleting members of the faculty of record.
